Seek and you will find
‘Ask and it will be given to you’ and ‘knock and the door will be opened to you.’ These verses should be already very common to many. So common that they have even lost what they mean. It has a lot in it though.
An important tip to take bag, however, is that, when one wants something, then they should really do all it takes to have it. Pursue it until you have achieved it and before you have it, do not rest.
Many of us have dreams, goals and our own desires. And whatever we want in our lives we know it better than any other person could know. Not even your own family or closest friends. It is because of this reason that we should go for it no matter what other people say or think. After all, at the end of it all, you live a life of and for your own. Some of our desires, goals, and ambitions may look crazy to everyone around you, and they will even misjudge you and call you names. Some will even refer you to the hospital for a mental checkup. It is okay but you know what you want better.
Sometimes it is appropriate to consult trusted people as well and hear what they think about what you want. But after your analysis don’t just settle for everything plus always remember that until you know what is possible you will always settle for what is available. Filter what they said and take the best out of it, and that is only if it is in a way in line with your pursuit.
Highly successful people around us, those we know or heard of, have a clear vision of what they want to do or achieve. They had it before and it is what leads to their success. The path to success is not the same for everyone, you already know that, but most important is the knowledge of where you want to be. With that in mind, you will always make decisions and choices in favor of that dream or goal.
Where are you and where do you want to be?
I have always liked some of the famous technology gurus in this era. They have made a great impact on our lives in a way or another even though they are just people like you and me. Bill Gates (Microsoft), Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook) Allan Juma (a young Kenyan Top software Engineer) are just but to mention. All these three have something in common. They are all good at Programming and which is the skill that helped them find their path to success. All of them did what it could take to get to where they are today and this is evidence of clarity in vision.
Some even stopped their university studies to pursue their dream. I am very sure for those of them that dropped schooling, had real problems with their parents, like Allan Juma says, “mom was really against that idea…” But even with all that he never stopped, and today he has earned his name as a Top Software Engineer in Kenya and has worked with a number of international companies even as young as he is.
The lessons to take home are that;
- Know what you want not what people want for you
- Do everything to get it
