You spoil them!
You are the reason they are SPOILT!
We don’t choose where we are born. We never wrote an application letter to be born there and we can’t even change it. We should embrace it instead of regretting and wishing we were born somewhere else.
Whereas some of us find themselves in very rich families, some come from very poor backgrounds. We should all strive to make things better. It is those that are determined that become successful and make a change. ‘Success is as a result of sustained efforts and strong will to win’ they say. Indeed determination and enough efforts are very key tools that are enough to buy anyone the level of success they ever desired.
However, there is a common problem with successful people who had to work very hard through a lot of suffering and hardships to make it in life. Most of these people have spoiled kids. This is a reality and it happens so naturally even without the parents having to realize. This is how it happens:
The parents, father of mother met their success after a lot of suffering and it because of this that they tend to be overprotective when it comes to their children. They want to be providing everything in the name of not allowing their children to go through what they had to go through and this is simply how these children get lost.
When a parent creates an environment of ever providing to their children, the children quickly conform to the culture and buy the mentality of, ‘we have enough and I will just take when I need.’ Aren’t such children already lost? Their parents forget something very key and that is, they are not going to be there forever to provide for their children. Tomorrow you might not wake up and who is going to be there to provide for them?
Children should be taught the importance of working for what they need, not just being provided for without any efforts. Here I am not talking about sending them to get themselves jobs in the streets to be paid for. Assign your children a role in the house, a role they could help their mother or father with. It could be washing your car, cleaning the compound and the pay comes in the form of buying them what they asked for.
A child brought up already appreciating the importance of working for what they want grows into a very responsible adult. This is a process that each parent should take their children through because as I mentioned, tomorrow things may change, you may lose your job and all your income crippled. From then and even in the future your children will have been prepared to work for all they may want, without necessarily depending on you. With such a mind, the child naturally grows into an entrepreneur, innovator, and an inventor. You are simply making your children’s future bright.
